How to change a light bulb in a Lowe's Harbor Breeze ceiling fan if the globe won't twist off as expected I have three of these fans. The previous owners of my house installed them and the first time a light bulb went out, I had a devil of a time figuring out how to change it. The glass globe does not twist off as expected.
Maybe the fans are defective, but the globes do not twist off on any of them. To remove the globe, unscrew the three screws holding it on.
Below are what the pieces look like when you remove it. You can see the three holes in the part that connects with the fan, and one of the screws on the left.
Here's what the fan looks like with the globe removed. The bulb has one of those small candelabra bases.
I bought this expensive energy efficient bulb that lasts 7 years since changing the bulb is difficult. I hope this helps someone figure out how to change the light bulb if the globe won't twist off as expected.

Programming the Remote on a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan is done by turning off the power at the breaker, turning on the power, then holding down the program or reset button in the battery compartment of the fan's remote control. The Harbor Breeze ceiling fan dimmer is operated by holding down the light button then releasing the button at your desired light level. When you have multiple fans that use the same type of remote, you may experience a conflict between the remote and other fans. One remote will operate two or more fans in other rooms. To solve this problem, simply reset and reprogram the fans one at a time and take care to get the remote that is being programed as far away from the other fans as possible, but still able to control the fan you're trying to program. Special Note: just because the light on the remote lites up does not mean the battery is good, it may not have enough juice to control the fan.
So if you are having trouble programming the remote, test your battery!
